There really are no words to describe the magic of this destination mountain wedding in Chamonix. It felt like an absolute dream come true to be back out in one of my favourite places celebrating with two of the kindest, loveliest people I’ve ever met. Maggie and Alex are both from Canada and flew to France for their intimate elopement in the French Alps with their very nearest and dearest. It’s not often everything comes together with such beauty and perfection in the mountains. Weather, snow conditions and light can all be very temperamental but on the 2nd January everything came together for Maggie and Alex. We started at Chalet L’Orignal before moving onto a First Look session at Les Gaillands where some of my favourite images were captured. Maggie wore the most elegant gown and braved the cold sans collants (tights). We then made a mad dash across Chamonix to take the Montenvers tramway up to the Mer de Glace where we captured some more amazing photos before their intimate outdoor ceremony at the Hotel du Montenvers. It was honestly one of the most romantic ceremonies I’ve ever had the pleasure of being a part of and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house – me included. The intimate evening reception was back at the chalet with an incredible 4 course meal by Zoe of Saveurs du Mont Blanc. I can honestly say that the whole day still feels like a dream and a lifetime ago given the current situation! Maggie is one of three sisters like myself and I honestly felt as though I found my Canadian family equivalent! Thank you so much to Maggie and Alex for inviting me to be part of such a magical, intimate, romantic day. I hope we always stay in touch and I wish you all the love and happiness in the world. Enjoy this little blog of winter wonderland magic, so much of my heart remains in Chamonix and I hope these images do something to show it’s beauty and majesty. Big love and stay well, Helen xx
